Au chœur des femmes rurales : la pièce 99 FEMMES MAROC est composée !

Pendant trois jours, au théâtre Mohamed V de Rabat, l’équipe constituée par Zakia, Asmaa, Cécile, Karine, Lamia, Salima et animée par Geneviève ont entremêlé les récits de vie des femmes du monde rural et les textes issus des ateliers d’écriture pour former une pièce polyphonique 99 FEMMES MAROC, où résonnent les voix puissantes et poétiques d’un chœur de femmes. Elles y célèbrent le chant natif des sources où elles vont puiser l’eau et la beauté de la nature ; autour du feu du kanoun, elles disent leur regret d’avoir été retirées de l’école après avoir été mariées trop jeunes. Tisserandes, pâtissières, préparatrices d’onguents, éleveuses de chèvres ou cultivatrices, elles racontent le travail de leurs mains, l’art et la joie qu’elles mettent dans leurs ouvrages
La pièce 99 FEMMES MAROC dessine le portrait incarné des femmes du monde rural marocain loin des stéréotypes habituels. Sans enjoliver leurs conditions de vie marquée par l’injustice de l’analphabétisme et de la pauvreté, la pièce donne aussi à entendre les paroles de ces femmes battantes qui agissent et construisent, pas à pas, une vie meilleure pour elles-mêmes et leurs enfants. La pièce est une invitation à changer de regard sur les femmes pour reconnaitre leur vitalité et leur agentivité.

Tissons des liens avec les femmes du monde rural
Les festivals communautaires Ifalan (les fils en amazighe) se tiendront du 14 mai au 16 juillet 2022 dans les 9 communautés émergentes qui participent au projet 99 FEMMES MAROC. Les festivals Ifalan s’attachent à célébrer, valoriser et faire vivre le patrimoine sacré, entretenu et transmis par les femmes du monde rural. Pour la première édition, la pièce de théâtre 99 FEMMES MAROC écrite à partir des récits de vie des 99 femmes « éclaireuses » sera jouée en arabe et en amazigh dans chacun des villages.
Pourquoi des festivals communautaires ?
Les festivals Ifalan permettent de retisser des liens entre les membres d’une communauté rurale à partir d’une réappropriation positive du patrimoine culturel commun. Levier d’un développement autonome et durable, les festivals tissent également des liens avec l’extérieur, dans une ouverture constructive et décomplexée avec la ville.

Franco-algérienne vivant au Maroc, Lamia Gormit est passionnée de littérature. Elle a d’abord enseigné les Lettres avant de se consacrer à l’écriture. Elle anime des ateliers d’écriture à Alger, Paris et Rabat. Dans le Projet 99 Femmes Maroc, elle a participé aux ateliers d’écriture, à la traduction collaborative des monologues et à la composition de la pièce : un processus de création tout en transformations et déplacements littéraires qui font écho à son parcours personnel entre langues et cultures.
Formation à la broderie
Du 21 mars au 8 avril dernier, , la centaine de femmes engagée dans les 9 communautés émergentes du projet 99 Femmes Maroc a bénéficié d’une formation à la broderie. Dans les villages de Tamarout, Tata, Skoura, Aït Benhaddou, Timmit, Moqrisset, Brachoua et Ferraha, les femmes ont patiemment appris à broder les signes qu’elles avaient dessinés lors d’un atelier précédent : des symboles inspiré de l’environnement naturel ou issus des traditions : palmier, tapis, fibule. Pour certaines femmes, le travail de l’aiguille et du fil est une pratique courante et la technique des principaux points de broderie est vite acquise. Pour d’autres, l’apprentissage est plus laborieux mais gratifiant lorsque la reproduction brodée ressemble bien au dessin ! Assemblée sur un seul et ample tissu, la centaine de signes brodés constituera l’élément principal du décor de la pièce de théâtre itinérante 99 Femmes jouée lors des festivals communautaires Ifalan. De la conception de ces festivals à la fabrication artisanale de tapis, de semoule ou de pain, les femmes du monde rural sont les véritables organisatrices et actrices des festivals IFALAN. From the choir of rural women: the piece 99 WOMEN MOROCCO is composed!

For three days, at the Mohamed V theater in Rabat, the team formed by Zakia, Asmaa, Cécile, Karine, Lamia, Salima and led by Geneviève intertwined the life stories of women from the rural world and the texts from the writing workshops create a polyphonic play 99 WOMEN MOROCCO, where the powerful and poetic voices of a women’s choir resonate. They celebrate the native song of the springs where they draw water and the beauty of nature; Around the kanoun fire, they express their regret at having been taken out of school after being married too young. Weavers, pastry chefs, ointment preparers, goat breeders or farmers, they tell about the work of their hands, the art and the joy they put into their works.
The play 99 WOMEN MOROCCO draws the incarnated portrait of women from the Moroccan rural world far from the usual stereotypes. Without embellishing their living conditions marked by the injustice of illiteracy and poverty, the play also lets us hear the words of these fighter women who act and build, step by step, a better life for themselves and their children. The play is an invitation to change the way we look at women in order to recognize their vitality and agency.

The IFALAN Community Festivals from May to July 2022
Connect with rural women
The Ifalan community festivals (the threads in Amazigh) will be held from May 14 to July 16, 2022 in the 9 emerging communities that participate in the project 99 WOMEN MOROCCO project. The Ifalan festivals will celebrate, enhance and bring to life the sacred heritage, maintained and transmitted by women in the rural world. For the first edition, the play 99 WOMEN MOROCCO inspired by the life stories of the 99 “leading” women will be performed in Arabic and Amazigh in each of the villages.
Community festivals: what for?
Ifalan festivals help to revitalize links between the members of a rural community based on the positive appropriation of a common cultural heritage. As a lever for autonomous and sustainable development, festivals also forge links with the outside world, in a constructive and uninhibited openness with the city.

Franco-Algerian living in Morocco, Lamia Gormit is passionate about literature. She first taught Literature before devoting herself to writing. She leads writing workshops in Algiers, Paris and Rabat. In the Project 99 Women Morocco, she participated in the writing workshops, the collaborative translation of the monologues and the composition of the play: a creative process full of transformations and literary displacements that echo her personal journey between languages and cultures.
Embroidery training
From March 21 to April 8, about 100 women involved in the 9 emerging communities of the project 99 Women Morocco attended an embroidery training. In the villages of Tamarout, Tata, Skoura, Aït Benhaddou, Timmit, Moqrisset, Brachoua and Ferraha, the women patiently learned to embroider the signs they had drawn during a previous workshop: symbols inspired by their natural environment or tradition: palm tree, carpet, fibula. carpet or fibula. For some women, sewing is a common practice and the embroidery technique is quickly acquired. For others, learning is slower but rewarding when the embroidered signs looks like the design! Assembled on a single, loose fabric, 99 embroidered signs will be the main element of the set for the nomadic theater play 99 Women, performed during Ifalan community festivals. From the conception of these festivals to the making of carpets, couscous or bread, women from the rural world are the tue organizers and actors of the IFALAN festivals.
